Creating a memorable brand, one that connects with your audience.

How to become unforgettable?

This has long been my focus. As a marketer who is obsessed with the customer, I know how important it is to stay on top of mind. To become your customers’, go-to choice, and a constant in their life.

And I’ve found that there’s one thing in particular you can do to engage your audience over the years…

Telling stories that can be re-told.

Why does storytelling work so well for customer retention?

Real authentic stories about your brand and purpose can do more than entice and convince customers to invest in you, it makes them come back again and again.

One of my clients, Buns of Joy, has not only created a gorgeous product that keeps customers coming back, but they continue to share relevant and engaging stories with their community.

They share stories from behind the scenes at the bakery, UGC content from customers, stories aligned to their mission, their team and their passion for creating a great product and service!

Their joyful purpose runs through their whole business, from the product creation, and customer experience, and across every marketing channel they use and collaboration they build.

It’s unforgettable.

Stories that can be re-told

And why is it so beneficial to create stories that can be re-told?

It means that your customers can share your brand with others. With ease even! If you have a brand that speaks to your dream customers, they will be able to tell everyone about it and do your marketing for you.

And how amazing is that?

How to do this for your brand

To do this successfully for YOUR brand, you need to define your content pillars and keep consistent, you want to become known for talking about your core values again and again.

Here are my three tips on how to do this best:

  1. Focus on one emotion that you want to convey - is it excitement? happiness? joy?

  2. Make it easy for yourself - where can you authentically connect with your audience? By sending a personalised thank you note or by making sure to reply to everyone who shares your product on social media.

  3. Get personal - invite people in to see your story. Your customers will want to know and support you.

Part of your brand positioning

If you want to be unforgettable, this should be a part of your brand positioning. Preferably from the beginning. If your audience can connect with you from the beginning, they are more likely to stay for the long run.

And, even more importantly, make it authentic for you.

Yes, not every brand can be happy and joyful. But humans crave real connections, and it is a lot harder to connect to “cutting edge solutions” than to positive emotions.

So, if your brand isn’t all about joy, maybe it can be supportive or inspiring? Your customers are relieved they have you and your solution in their life. And there might even be a story in there on how you discovered that the world needs it?

There are so many ways to tell stories about your brand and your product. You just have to find the connection and discover how it makes your customers feel.

I help businesses create marketing plans that speak to their ideal customers and make them feel something. We focus on pushing through the noise to become a brand that they won’t stop talking about.

What stories can you tell to become more than just a brand? 💜
